DATOGA
(TANZANIA)
This expedition takes
place in
the high plateaus of northern Tanzania. The name “Datoga” means
“people,” but their neighbors, the Masai, call them the “Mangati,”
which means “enemies.” The members of the two tribes are fierce
adversaries in the defense of their livestock. Dr. Abati’s team
observes daily activities in one Datoga settlement and participates in
a Datoga wedding. |
