ANear Oldonyo Lengai, the
sacred mountain of the Masai, Dr. Abati’s team is invited to
participate in the initiation rituals of the tribe’s young men, who,
after circumcision, are converted into morani, or young warriors.
During these rituals, the Masai slaughter calves and dance to the
rhythms of their chants.
